Barnaby's space

Sometimes you just happen to be in the right place at the right time.  Tonight was one of those nights.

I've just got back to my hotel room after spending a great few hours at the Oliers - Flames game at Rexall Place. 

A number of Microsoft staff are out here preparing for a large event that we will be delivering on Thursday, but tonight a few of us had some free time and were able to pickup some Oiler's tickets at the last minute.  The seats we managed to score where excellent (thanks Jeff), we were in the front row of the second level looking straight across the goal line. 

The Oilers-Flames rivally is truly one that has to be experienced first hand.  With these two cities so close to each other, when they meet up for a game, you get an almost evenly split crowd at the game - at least that what it looked like tonight.  Since I'm neither a Flames nor an Oiler fan, I figured it only fair to cheer for the team whose city I was visiting, so needless to say, I was happy to see Edmonton win.

Anyway, tomorrow is back to business as we put the finishing touches on Thursday's event.  If you are coming to the event in Edmonton, make sure you stop by and say hi.  I'll be in the community zone as well as taking photos and video throughout the venue.  If not, perhaps I'll see you at one of the other cities on the tour.
